We are excited about our latest custom waterfront project in Crownsville.

This project has it all. Beautiful waterfront vistas, demolition of an existing structure, great sandy site conditions, a ski-lift like tram to catch all of the action from any elevation, and a foundation that crawls up the side of a hill from 14′ to 39′ above the Severn River.

Stay tuned to the Arrisbrook Blog to see it all come down and then watch us build it back up. This is going to be our most challenging foundation yet!

Naval Academy graduate and former Marine raising money and awareness to provide accessible homes for injured soldiers.

Spencer Padgett, co-founder of Arrisbrook Builders, is participating in the 33rd annual Marine Corps Marathon on October 26, 2008 in Arlington, Virginia. Spencer will run as part of the Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) team. Founded in 2004, HFOT helps injured soldiers by raising money, building material and professional labor donations and coordinating new home construction or the adaptation of an existing home for handicapped accessibility. HFOT utilizes funds received from events such as the Marine Corps Marathon to fill in the gaps between donations for their projects around the country. All monies raised by Spencer will go directly to HFOT.

In addition, Arrisbrook Builders is serving as the volunteer general contractor for HFOT’s first home built in Maryland. While serving in Iraq, Army Specialist and Baltimore native David Battle was severely injured by an IED. Spc. Battle, his wife, and four children will move into a new handicapped-accessible home within the next few months. The home’s lot will be paid in part with funds raised by the Marathon team.

“I want to reach as many people as possible to tell them about HFOT,” said Spencer. “I also want to push myself mentally and physically—this is a great organization with an important mission and that provided all the motivation I needed to get started.”
